How to Cook in a Thermos

Thermos Cooking:
1 - Purchase a high quality thermos like the Thermos brand if you don't already have one.  That cute lunchbox thermos will not hold the heat needed for cooking.
2 - Always preheat your thermos with very hot water, by filling the thermos, putting the lid on and letting it set while you boil the water for the food you are going to cook in it.  Then empty the thermos and add the item to be cooked and the boiled water.
3 - Leave enough room for the food to expand.
4 - Don't tighten the lid too tight or it will be very difficult to remove when the food is cooked.
5 - Shake well and lay the thermos on its side.  The food will cook more evenly this way.
