My Week with no Power Experiment
Last week at our house was and experiment in a week of no power. It was pretty much normal living for me. Just a little more time consuming for boiling water to cook and wash dishes with. Loved the no TV and computer for a week. Did cheat and take hot showers since I had to go to work. I did run out of bread and a wonderful friend gave me 2 loaves. We have a gas stove and oven, so I just lit the gas to use it. If I wasn't working I would have cooked/baked on the BBQ or solar oven. Had to dress warmer. Kept the heater set at 58 degrees. I did miss my electric blanket most of all. Had a lot of laundry to do after the week was over. In a real emergency I would wear the same clothes more often. I do want a butane curling iron.
